I’m a Uniting Church minister in Adelaide, and most weeks you’ll find me somewhere between a lectionary reading, a stack of books, and a few too many open tabs. This site is where the preaching, the reading, and the rest of it live together.

Anam Cara: Spiritual Wisdom from the Celtic World
John O’Donohue
The Irish poet-philosopher-priest’s best-known book, first published in 1997: a meditation on the old Celtic idea of the anam cara, or “soul friend” — the person with whom you can be utterly yourself. Moves through friendship, solitude, ageing and blessing with a poet’s ear rather than a theologian’s argument. (1999 edition, 280 pages.)
